Village Inn Continues Jazz & BBQ

Monte Rio, CA -- The Village Inn and Restaurant is bringing back their popular seasonal event – live Jazz and BBQ every Sunday on their terraces and lawns. This year they are adding one more element to this Sunday event – ART! The Village Inn is partnering with a new company, Art Direct Sonoma, and bringing nine exciting art shows, each featuring one or more Sonoma County artist, to the Village Inn throughout the summer and fall.

Beginning June 15th, an artist reception will be held in the beautiful bar area of the Village Inn from noon until 2PM every other Sunday. The first show will feature Sonoma County artist Bradford Brenner.

Brenner has a long list of successful exhibits including Museum of Contemporary Art, Hot Springs, AR, 'Pleasures of the Palette' benefit for CASA, Phoenix, AZ, Peter Lowell's, Sebastopol, CA (solo show), POP Gallery, Santa Fe, NM (group show), 'Face to Face', Bonner David Gallery, Scottsdale, AZ (solo show) – all of these in 2007.

Brenner’s work is marvelously varied -- from portraits, to still life, to landscape all of them show a remarkable understanding of the subject. “Throughout my career, I’ve typically done a little of everything,” says Brenner. “What I enjoy most about this is the challenge of it. I like watching the work evolve and change over time. But what’s most important about all of the work is the feeling it creates.” Taken from The American Art Collector article November 2007.

This new show can be viewed beginning Wednesday, June 11th. The artist’s reception is on Sunday, June 15th from noon until 2PM. The show will close on Sunday, June 22nd.

New shows will be installed for two week showings through October 12, 2008 at the Village Inn and Restaurant and will include many popular Sonoma County artists such as Mylette Welch, Frank Gannon, Sterling Hoffman, Dana Hawley, Sandra Maresca, Susan Cornelis, Louisa King Fraser and Ben Grace.

The terraces at the Village Inn are the perfect place for a summer repast with live music every Sunday, an amazing BBQ menu, refreshing libations and now, art, this is the place to spend a leisurely afternoon while gazing at the beautiful Russian River.
